Murder, Assassination, Killing, Ragging, All Mean Killing

When I saw the news of Aman’s death by brutal ragging I remember a comment made by a friend of mine which goes as follows: When you steal things that are not of much value, you become a thief who is looked down upon by society. When you become a burglar, the society looks at you with some awe. When you become a dacoit the society gives you general pardon, and when you are caught in a multi million dollar/rupees scam the society respects you and you may become a minister. Similarly when you murder a person you are sent to jail with out much ado. When you assassinate a VIP the world looks at you with mixed feelings. But when you rag a person which happens only with students, and if some thing happens, it becomes an accident. These murderers who join colleges in the guise of students can’t be reformed and they must be sent to a lunatic asylum.

all their certificates should also be marked and confiscated, so that they cannot join any college or universities in the future.

I think we need to classify such acts as acts of terror and mete out the same treatment that you would to a terrorist. I have a simple philosophy - You don’t need an AK-47 to terrorize somebody. You can intimidate and terrorize by threatening, by isolation, by abuse (physical, mental and verbal). Anyone who steps out of this line should be branded a terrorist and tried and prosecuted under the laws that govern terrorists. This also includes our aam janta, families, politicians, law enforcers who terrorize innocent people and of course senior students who do such barbaric acts to their juniors. I think there should be no gender bias here, man or woman needs to be treated at par for aiding and/or abetting such acts.

Here the case was different. The boy repeatedly informed his family and the college authorities about the misconduct of the seniors towards him but no one took it seriously.

I think parents and the principal along with the hostel warden are equally responsible. They all should be punished along with the four main culprits.

How can someone ignore such constant complaints? These people have shown their irresponsible behavior. Such people do not deserve to be a parent or holding the highest post in the institution.

Ragging is a crime committed by psychopaths…these people should be treated for their mental illness to beat someone to the extent of death. SICK.

This is so sad. The boy must have got admission after studying hard and clearing the competitions. Such students should never be given admission in the professional colleges. I thing a psychological test should also be conducted for the students at the time of admission.

I tell you what…people who have studied hard and scored 80-90% marks to qualify, do not get involved in such activities as they have other important matters to look after. These are the fanatics who get admissions either on the basis of reservation or PR. They are the ones who are least interested in studying but in messing up other student’s lives. Our poor system is the root cause of this nuisance.

In professional institutions, the activities of students who enter through the ’Management Quota’, ’NRI Quota’ should be monitored strictly. These are usually children of rich households, politicians, etc. and many a times the college management does not want to antagonise such people.

These students think that money can buy everything. Sadly, they are not brought up by teaching that money can’t buy LIFE, CHARACTER, and last buy not the least a GOOD NAME.

A student who enters a professional institution on the basis of merit and by clearing all relevant exams is mature enough to not indulge in such practices. It goes without saying that principals of professional colleges have a moral responsibility towards the college as whole and it is they who should keep a strict vigil and ensure that untoward incidents do not surface.
